About
The Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering aims to provide students with advanced training for the exercise of highly qualified activities in the disciplinary fields of industrial engineering. More specifically, the Degree Course is dedicated to the training of professional figures of engineers with high cultural and professional preparation, qualified to set up, carry out and manage even complex design activities and to promote and develop innovation. Graduates are able to independently develop advanced projects in terms of product and process from a functional, construction and energy point of view, with the choice of materials and related processes, the design of the arrangement and management of machines in a plant for optimal use. Graduates are able to obtain, analyze and use adequate models of machines, plants and industrial processes, even complex ones, for the purpose of introducing and managing technological innovation in industrial and service companies, with particular attention to the manufacturing industry.
This is the result of a solid preparation in the basic disciplines and in the more specific ones of mechanical engineering, through a training path that deepens, in addition to the methodological-operational aspects, also the theoretical-applicative ones related to:
- production with particular attention to production technologies, production systems and logistics systems.
- analysis and optimization of combustion processes through fluid dynamic analysis of finite elements.
- Reuse of polymeric, construction and steel materials.
- Industrial design aimed at reintroducing the final product into the production process.
The path includes the possibility of training activities chosen independently by the student, with CFU that can be acquired both through free choice courses consistent with the training project and with curricular internship activities (company or internal). The offer of curricular company internships is periodically updated, through the continuous interaction of the Degree Course with the industrial entities of the Region (Steering Committee). The educational path is integrated by offering students both the opportunity to participate in lessons and technical visits to companies and to participate in in-depth technical seminars/conferences organized in synergy with the world of business and professions.

Steering Committee
The courses of study in Industrial Engineering constantly interact with the territory through a Steering Committee in which a representation of the teaching staff and numerous companies and institutions of the regional and national territory participate. The group of companies is constantly growing.

Resources for students
At the following LINK, which directs to the Department page, you can find useful information for the students of the Course. Below you will find a series of references to some of these.
Academic regulation and study plan
The Academic regulation is an official document that defines the rules of the degree course. The Regulations also include the educational offer, which is the study plan (also called Manifesto degli studi). Students interested in consulting only the study plan will find a dedicated link below (this study plan coincides with the one reported in the Curricula section of this page).

Internships
The degree program allows students to complete an internship either at a company or in a university laboratory, in order to gain valuable skills in the workplace. The Department of Engineering has agreements with over 160 companies, where students can carry out an internship or thesis activity. The list includes small, medium, and large companies, including international ones with branches abroad. Students can undertake an internship within the framework of the elective choice in their study plan. All information regarding the internship regulations, the forms to be filled out, the partner companies, and access to laboratories for internal internships is available through the links provided below.
Thesis and graduation calendars
The thesis represents an important educational activity for the student and is carried out under the supervision of a faculty advisor and any potential co-advisors. The thesis activity, which can also be conducted in a corporate setting, involves the development of a complex project and the writing of an original paper. All information regarding the thesis, the graduation application, and the graduation session calendars can be found through the links provided below.
International mobility
The student has the opportunity to complete part of their educational path abroad, including for the purpose of an internship or thesis. International mobility is mainly supported by the EU Erasmus+ program. All information is available at the following link.
Post-graduation path and opportunities
After obtaining the degree, the student can access master's programs or PhD courses. They can also obtain certification to practice as a professional engineer through a specific state exam, or use job placement services to enter the workforce.
