About
The Bachelor of Science in Management Engineering aims to train a professional figure capable of dealing with the main problems related to the study, organization and management of complex business realities and systems. The three-year graduate is expected to acquire important skills in industrial and information engineering, together with knowledge in economics and management.
The aim is to train a management engineer who is useful to both manufacturing and service companies or the public administration. Hence the offer of a multidisciplinary path, which also emphasizes teachings that are not purely technical, covering, for example, business strategy, innovation management, business analysis, marketing and logistics. Subjects that, taken together, can provide a systemic view of business dynamics and increase graduates' problem-solving and complexity management skills. At the same time, the educational offerings are supported by solid core teachings and likewise include courses that provide specific technical-engineering skills, which complement the acquisition of soft skills and competencies in the strategic field, to find a winning synergy between the various areas.
In summary, the course aims to train a graduate who:
- knows how to work with information and communication systems, in both product and process areas;
- knows the basics of economics, business organization, business strategy and innovation management;
- is able to model decision problems peculiar to enterprises in different sectors, plan tactical and strategic actions and develop analytical tools, resorting to efficient solution techniques and/or algorithms;
- knows the main processes of business communication and has notions of marketing;
- has basic knowledge of mechanical and electronic components and systems in both functional and constructive aspects;
- knows the relevant regulations in the field and has skills for safety and quality management;
- knows the methods and tools for product design and development;
- knows the methods and tools for managing production processes and logistics;
- is able to manage innovation of processes, products and methods.
The organization of teaching activities has the following articulation:
- During the first year, the basic subjects typical of the area of Industrial and Information Engineering are delivered;
- During the second and third years, the typical teachings of Industrial and Information Engineering and related subject courses are delivered.
- Completing the teaching is the possibility of carrying out additional training activities, such as company internships or individual or group project activities, thus enhancing skills of an applied nature expendable in the world of work.
This BSc completes the University's educational offerings on subject areas that are only partially present in the current offerings of the Department of Engineering, and for which there is a manifest educational need from the industrial world.

RESOURCES FOR STUDENTS
Teaching Regulations
The Teaching Regulations is an official document that defines the regulations of the degree program. The document also contain the educational offerings, i.e., the study plan.
Lessons and exams
Internships
The Master's degree program provides for the student to carry out an internship in a company or at a university laboratory, in order to acquire useful work-related skills. The Department of Engineering has agreements with more than 160 companies, at which the student can carry out an internship or thesis activity. The list includes small, medium or large companies, including international ones with offices abroad. The student can carry out internships as part of the free choice of their study plan. All information regarding internship regulations, forms to be filled out and contracted companies, and access to laboratories in the case of internal internships can be found at the links below.
Thesis
International mobility
The student has the opportunity to carry out part of his or her education abroad, including for the purpose of an internship or dissertation. International mobility is mainly supported by the European Union's Erasmus+ program. All information is available at the following link.
Post-laurea programs and opportunities
After earning a bachelor's degree, the student can enter university master's programs. He or she can also acquire a license to practice as an engineer through a special state exam, or take advantage of job placement services for placement in the world of work.

How many days before graduation do I have to submit my graduation application?
The graduation application must be submitted at least 40 days before graduation.
How many days before graduation do I have to submit my project work?
The project work must be submitted at least 20 days before graduation.
What is project work?
Project work is the final project for the three-year Engineering Management course. It is a written document (without oral presentation) of about 30 pages that summarizes the knowledge acquired during the course of study. It must be carried out under the supervision of a professor, who may not belong to the course of study. The project work must take about 75 hours to complete, equivalent to two weeks. The commission assigns a score of up to three points to be added to the graduation grade. (Effective with the new regulations, starting with those who enroll in the 2025-2026 academic year.) For those who enrolled in previous academic years, the commission assigns a score of up to 7 points to be added to the degree grade.
What is the end-of-internship report?
The end-of-internship report is a mandatory document that students must write at the end of their curricular internship, whether it was carried out in a company or within the university. It describes the activities carried out, the objectives achieved, and the skills acquired. It is a document necessary for the validation of the internship.
Are the end-of-internship report and the project work the same thing?
No. These are two separate documents with different purposes:
- End-of-internship report: this provides a summary of the activities carried out, the objectives achieved, and the skills acquired during the internship, for the purpose of recognizing the expected credits.
- Project work: this is the final project for the degree course and requires a more extensive analysis, which may also be based on data or experiences gained during the internship, but cannot be limited to reporting on what was done during the activity.
How do you obtain a final grade of 110 with honors?
To obtain honors, students must achieve a degree grade of 110/110 or higher. The degree committee evaluates the student's academic record and decides whether to award honors. The award requires unanimity among all members of the committee.
In what language are the lessons held?
Lessons are delivered in English, mainly in person, with the option of attending them live online if necessary.
What bonuses can I get on my degree grade?
The bonus points described here will come into effect in the 2025-2026 academic year. For students who enrolled in previous years, the old regulations remain in force.
- Duration bonus:
- +3 points if you graduate “on time” (within the last session of the academic year),
- +1 point if you graduate within one year after the end of the program,
- no bonus for subsequent periods.
- Average grade bonus:
- up to +3 points depending on exam results.
- Internship bonus:
- +1 point if you have completed the internship with the maximum 15 credits available (3 compulsory + 12 elective).
- Erasmus Bonus:
- +1 point if you have completed at least 12 ECTS in Erasmus mobility (study or traineeship).
- Honors Bonus:
- +0.25 points for each honor, up to a maximum of +1 point.
